About PayRecs
PayRecs is the platform community and regional banks use to offer modern cross-border B2B payments to their business customers. International payments were one of the last corners of banking untouched by modern software, and the banks businesses depend on were being cut out of the fintech wave rather than powered by it. We fix both. Banks get a best-in-class payments product under their own brand and a new revenue line for their treasury team; businesses get international payments built on our three pillars: simplicity, transparency, and innovation. PayRecs is post-Series A and live with 20 bank partners across the US, moving money through direct integrations with payment providers including Visa and Corpay, and partnering with digital banking platforms like Q2. We are a small, senior team where every hire has visible impact.
The role
You will be our first dedicated Solutions Engineer and the deepest product expert outside the founding team. Today that expertise sits with a co-founder; you will take it over and scale it. You are the technical resource sales brings into the room, the technical backbone of every implementation, and the internal source of truth on how the product works. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of product, sales, and the customer, working directly with the co-founder who leads Product.
What you will own
- Become the deepest non-founder expert on PayRecs and our integration partners.
- Support sales: run technical discovery, deliver compelling product demos, and answer prospect technical questions during evaluation.
- Support implementation: guide technical configuration and onboarding so new bank partners go live smoothly.
- Back up customer success as the escalation point for product and technical questions beyond first-line support.
- Build the assets that scale you: demo environments, solution narratives, FAQs, and internal enablement.
- Carry customer and prospect feedback back into the product roadmap.
What this role is not
This is not an account executive role; you do not carry a closing quota or own the commercial relationship. You do not own the product backlog, and you do not resolve production money-movement operations. You support implementation without necessarily owning the implementation project plan.
Your first six months
- 30 days: ramp deep on the product and integration partners; shadow live demos and implementations.
- 60 days: independently run demos and technical discovery, and serve as the named technical resource on active implementations.
- 90 days: a reusable demo environment and enablement library in place; routine demos and technical questions run through you.
- Six months: you are the trusted technical expert across sales, implementation, and customer success.
What you bring
- Experience in a solutions engineer, sales engineer, presales, or technical implementation role, ideally in payments or fintech.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with both business and technical audiences.
- A consultative mindset: you listen, understand the customer's workflow, and frame the product to fit.
- The aptitude and discipline to become deeply expert in our platform and integrations.
- Comfort customer-facing and in front of prospects, including executives.
Nice to have
- Cross-border, online banking, or B2B payments domain knowledge.
- API and integration fluency; comfort discussing payments, online banking and compliance with a customer's team
- Experience building demo environments and enablement content.
- Experience working across sales, implementation, and customer success.
Growth path
As our go-to-market team scales, this role can grow into a Solutions Engineering lead, or toward a product role given the depth of product knowledge it builds.
